Mobile Choice Consumer Awards: Virgin Media wins Best Value Network

Virgin Media has been crowned the Best Value Network at the 2014 Mobile Choice Consumer Awards.

In a category voted for entirely by our readers, Virgin Media was a more popular choice than GiffGaff, Lebara Mobile, TalkMobile, TalkTalk and Tesco Mobile.

The world’s first MVNO, Virgin has introduced an easier way to buy SIM cards by bundling them with the company’s broadband, TV and home phone services. Inclusive insurance is offered as standard to all existing mobile customers, and Virgin offers some of the most keenly priced unlimited tariffs on the market, plus free 0800 and 0845 calls.

With four million customers, shortlisted Tesco Mobile is the UK’s largest MVNO, sharing O2’s network and boasting 99% network coverage. Tesco Mobile is notable for its ClubCard points, which are racked up with every pound spent by its users.

GiffGaff has had a strong year and earned brownie points from our readers for a successful 4G roll-out and by offering unlocked phones to their customers.

Covering 99.7% of the UK, TalkMobile now has more than half a million customers, and its services are available in 794 Carphone Warehouse stores nationwide, as well as online.

Specialising in pre-paid mobile SIM cards, Lebara Mobile has more 2.5 million customers and has become a hit among tourists and migrant workers.
