With over 20 million tracks to choose from across almost all genres, and the ability to play music offline on a huge number of devices, Spotify was the obvious winner for our Music Streaming Service of The Year prize.
Entering its seventh year, Spotify has more than 40 million registered users and is available in over 50 languages to users of just about all mobile and smart TV platform.
In the last ear Spotify has extended its reach into the UK market by partnering with Vodafone, giving its Premium service to 4G subscribers for free for six months.
Spotify fought off competition from Deezer and Mix Radio; Deezer is available in 182 countries and has partnerships with some 2,000 independent and major record labels, offering 35 million tracks.
A partnership with EE brings Deezer’s services - and 18 million tracks - to the network’s users. Finally, having gone independent this year Mix Radio is now available to iOS and Android users, and no longer solely through Nokia handsets.
