Samsung B2700 Bound Review
Like any good, robust phone that has been designed with the outdoors in mind, the Samsung B2700 Bound is cased in a protective, rubbery casing. It may not look pretty, but its keypad is large and practical, and meticulously sealed to keep the water out.
There were no problems with navigating the phone’s menu – as it is designed to be a toughphone the emphasis is on its external capabilities, so you can’t go far wrong.
Aside from the phones robustness, it also features some quirky additions that will appeal to the outdoor user. It offers a built-in Pedometer, to count your steps, and a compass – very useful on long walks. Its multimedia capabilities are also pretty good, with a two-megapixel camera, 3G data speeds and 26MB of internal memory.
The Samsung B2700 Bound claims to be water resistant, and it was able to survive a thorough soaking without any problems. It can also take more than a few bumps and knocks, making it far sturdier than the average phone.
The battery life was more than sufficient, and surpassed that of other toughphones.
Depending on your requirements, the Samsung B2700 Bound could be the phone for you. If you are after a robust phone that still offers you multimedia capabilities then it’s ideal, but if you need something that can withstand anything, then the Sonim XP3 is probably more suitable.
Pros: A sturdy phone with a feature set that outdoes the other ruggedised phones on the market.
Cons: Despite sporting 3G data speeds, the internet experience was not as smooth as we might have hoped.
