Sony Ericsson Z555 Review
The Z555i feels cumbersome and plastic. The prism-style design fails to capture the eloquent look the manufacturer was trying to achieve.
A 1.3-megapixel camera, GPRS, FM radio and music player make up the Z555i's feature set. Sony Ericsson has also bundled in its novel gesture control to silence incoming calls and alarms.
The keypad is large and easy to navigate, but there are no designated shortcut keys.
Despite the GPRS connection, surfing the net was not as slow as first feared. The camera is a major disappointment both in terms of what can be viewed on the screen and in terms of features. The FM radio is more than competent, but the music player is basic.
Battery life
For an entry-level handset, the Z555i boasts a marathon battery life with 500 minutes' talktime and 360 hours' standby.
Pros: The battery life is very impressive and the gesture control is an appealing gimmick.
Cons: The design looks and feels plasticy, and the manufacturer has failed to make the most of the available space.

Verdict: With entry-level handsets becoming increasingly better looking, the Sony Ericsson Z555i will struggle to compete with more aesthetic handsets.
