Samsung i8910 HD ReviewRed starRed starRed starRed star White star

Poor Excellent

Look and feel

A beautiful device from Samsung despite its large dimensions, it comes with a glossy black fascia and a massive 3.7-inch touch-screen display.

Ease of use

The media features on the i8910 HD are top-notch, with lots of additional settings to aid usability. For example, the handset interacts well with a PC – automatically downloading drivers when you plug connect it – and the camera auto settings result in fantastic shots.

Features

The eight-megapixel camera and HD abilities of the i8910 HD are truly breathtaking. Unfortunately, the email and internet functions are where the phone falters ever so slightly, as it doesn’t have push-email and the display is not optimised for the full screen.

Performance

As mentioned, the media features on this phone are second to none. However, the QWERTY keyboard only works in landscape mode, which is frustrating, and the menus are badly organised.

Battery life

Battery life is really poor, even when you take into account that the feature heavy handset requires a lot of power.

The verdict

The media aspects of the Samsung i8910 HD are exceptional, but the handset falls short due to its terrible battery life and uncomfortable browsing experience.

Samsung i8910 HD

Pros: Beautiful display, excellent touch-screen, top-notch video and still camera, and surround sound.
Cons: No dedicated app store, landscape-only keyboard, and abysmal battery life.

Verdict: A powerful media phone that is just slightly let down by imperfect web and user interface features.
