A comfortable fit in your palm, the Samsung F480 Tocco also fits nicely in your pocket. The 2.8-inch touch-screen dominates the front fascia and adds to its aesthetic quality, and it can also be customised to suit your tastes.
With the aid of a haptic feedback, the touch-screen worked a treat, although we did find the space key was too close to the OK button which resulted in some accidental key nudges.
A 2.8-inch touch-screen, 7.2Mbps HSDPA broadband speed, a five-megapixel camera complete with face detection, smile shutter and image stabilisation help make up the Samsung F480 Tocco's feature set.
The camera's features were a pleasure to use, with the smile shutter function proving a real novelty. The track ID application Shazam identifies the tune and displays the album artwork, and surfing the net and downloading proved a speedy affair. The touch-screen gives the iPhone a run for its money.
180 minutes' talktime and 250 hours' standby is not great and means regular charges will be needed.
Pros: Samsung gives Apple a run for its money and offers definite improvement, such as a great camera and 3G, all in a stylish, compact handset.
Cons: The Tocco lacks a QWERTY keyboard, and texting can be fiddly. The lack of Wi-Fi is disappointing.

Verdict: It’s rare to find a touch-screen phone as well executed as the iPhone. Samsung fans will be delighted to see a new and adept interface on a cool phone that doesn’t cut any corners. It is fast, slick and full of customisable details.

Samsung ToccoI too am stuck with this phone for the next 18 months. It freezes on me all the time, the voice clarity is shocking! Been trying to find out how to get the phone sent away to be fixed or something but i dont seem to be having much luck.
Samsung Tacco F480The best phone i have ever used. 5.0 mega camera, great bettery life, cyristal clean screen,it also has a video player so you can watch a movie with it,,, it's such a bargain for the price!
samsung toccoOh dear! The worst phone I have ever had the misfortune of being stuck with for an 18 month contract!!! The first handset would become BURNING HOT! Yes thats right... a very dangerous fault and the following 3 handset replacements I have had have all had problems freezing. It has extremely annoying design flaws which you'll pick up as you 'enjoy' it, one of which, in normal mode, you have a choice of bleeps or xylophone tones when you touch the keys... no option to just have a silent key tone. Its particually frustrating when accessing features during calls also. But I guess its saving grace is the 5 megapixel camera.... oh hang on.... its a PLASTC CRAP lens so the pictures aren't brilliant anyway. Not reccomended.
