Samsung E900 Review

16 November 2007  |  Avg user rating:

Poor Excellent

Look and Feel

The Samsung E900 is a sleek phone that feels nice in the hand. It's streamlined and minimalist, but prone to greasy fingerprints, and the touch keys look good. It has smooth slide action.

Features

The Samsung E900's two-megapixel camera and MP3 music player are complimented by 80MB of internal memory plus a microSD card slot. Bluetooth allows for wireless headphones.

Ease of Use

The touch screen on the Samsung E900 can cause problems for newcomers. Handle with care or you will be flying into all sorts of menu options you hadn't expected. Taking photos is comfortable, and the user interface easy enough to get on with.

Performance

Photos taken on the Samsung E900 have of focus and detail, although they are affected by a blue tinge. Musically, sound quality isn't great, although did improve when we streamed music over A2DP Bluetooth profile to our Jabra headset.

Battery Life

The Samsung D900 offers a distinctly average 210 minutes' talktime, but this should be plenty for most people's needs.

Samsung E900

Pros: Like the Chocolate phone, its touch-keys and minimalist design are very elegant and bring sophistication to the mainstream.

Cons: The merest accidental caress of the touch-keys can send the phone into unwanted directions. Handle with care.

Verdict: It's all down to personal taste as to which touch-phone you root for but Samsung has designed a dashing high-fashion handset with a feature set to match.
