Nokia E61 Review

16 November 2007  |  Avg user rating:

Poor Excellent

Look and Feel

The Nokia E61, with its large screen and QWERTY thumbpad, resemble the BlackBerry in layout. It has a very sleek chassis, with a suitably slim profile and a metallic silver finish that make it look businesslike and stylish.

Features

The Nokia E61 has a range of business features including Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity, mobile email with attachment viewing software, a QWERTY keypad for fast data input, and a large screen. There are also security features for keeping data safe, and an MP3 player for time off.

Ease of Use

The QWERTY thumbpad on the Nokia E61 is easy to master, although you will have to get used to the small sized keys. The Symbian OS poses no problems, and mobile email is easy to set up and use. Web browsing is made easy too with MiniMap technology.

Performance

The large, 16-million-colour screen is great for viewing web pages and attachments, with a bright, clear picture. Emails are easily sorted out and web browsing is very quick over a Wi-Fi connection. It gives a powerful performance and feels like a real boon to your business.

Battery Life

The Nokia E61 has a marathon 570 minutes of talktime. Frankly, it's one of the best we've seen, and just what you need if you are using it to run your out-of-office business. Nice one, Nokia.

Nokia E61

Pros: A versatile mobile emailer with a wealth of office functionality, a well-designed keyboard, an excellent display and a marathon battery life.
Cons: The lack of camera makes the video-calling functionality on the E61 a one-way experience. Memory card is tricky to access.

Verdict: The top phone in the Nokia Eseries and one of the best premium phones to hit the business market.
