Nokia 6280 Review

16 November 2007  |  Avg user rating: RatingRatingRatingRatingRating

Poor Excellent

Look and Feel

The Nokia 6280 is all straight lines. It is a sleek phone with a smooth slider action that feel good in the hand and pocket. Some will feel that its appearance is rather too formal, others will love its minimalist design.

Features

The Nokia 6280 features a dual-front camera and an MP4-capable music player, which plays near-CD-quality tracks. 3G enables video calling and video streaming.

Ease of Use

The Nokia 6280's camera functions like a standalone model, and is one of the simplest camera phones to manage. Music can easily be downloaded from your PC using the supplied software.

Performance

The camera produces passable photos, but they can be blurry round the edges. Music sound good from the built-in side speaker (yes, really). The 3G is faltering: video calling is blurry and indistinct, and fast-moving footage suffers while streaming.

Battery Life

130 minutes talktime? In anyone's language, this paltry battery life lets  the Nokia 6280 down. Just over two hours of music, video and chatting will wear this baby down.

Nokia 6280

Pros: There's a lot here to encourage you, not least its stunning display, music playing expertise and smart camera.
Cons: Video calling did falter but if you don't demand this feature, this flaw won't be too much of an inconvenience.

Verdict: Whether or not you subscribe to the 6280's orderly design, its all-round 3G and camera performance is extremely pleasing.
