LG KG800 Review

16 November 2007  |  Avg user rating:

Poor Excellent

Look and Feel

The LG KG800 Chocolate is all about the design, with a glossy, jet-black finish and a low-key silver trim that gives it a sleek, minimalist finish.
It opens smoothly and the soft keys and cursor keys light up in neon red. It is extraordinarily sensitive, though.

Features

The LG KG800 Chocolate offers the basics, such as a 1.3-megapixel camera with helpful digital effects, and a multi-format music player. Bluetooth connectivity, a 265,000-colour screen and built-in sudoku complete the package.

Ease of Use

The LG KG800 Chocolate does take some getting used to, as you need a feather-light touch. It's all too easy to race past the menu option you want.

Performance

That touch-sensitive operation can be frustrating, especially when while playing a game or sending a text. The laudable energy-saving feature of dimming the backlight can be too enthusiastic, and mean you starting all over again. Put in a bit of practise, though, and it's rather rewarding.

Battery Life

The LG KG800 Chocolate offers a respectable 200 minutes of talktime and 200 hours of standby - not bad for a design-led phone

LG KG800

Pros: A quite stunning design and finish. Ultra stylish.
Cons: A lack of expandable memory is a let-down. Some will struggle with the one-touch control.

Verdict: This phone's great looks and tactile qualities are the selling point and it really should be a hit for that alone.
