Smaller than a credit card, transform the modu into various guises

At only 40.1g, the modu has officially been named the world's lightest mobile phone. The Guinness World Records declared the modu, which measures a mere 72.1x37.6x7.8mm, a record breaker. The handset itself can be slipped into a variety of modu jackets or phone enclosures, which can transform the device into a sat nav for example, or even a phone with a QWERTY keypad.

Although the handset was unveiled in February at the Mobile World Congress, it won't be on sale until October, when it will begin being shipped in Italy, Russia and Israel, for an expected retail price of 500 euros (which will include two modu jackets). As for the UK, those wanting to get their fingertips on this minute device will have to wait until 2009.
