Garmin-Asus phone an early adopter
The current state of the Windows Mobile OS has been in the news with the delays to Windows Mobile 7 and the interface-based modifications to Windows Mobile 6.5 being just two of the principle talking points. Now, after those modifications were said to have spawned a new Mobile 6.5 variant, namely Windows Mobile 6.6 Maldives, more news has been released which appears to contradict those rumours.
It appears that the newly modified version of Windows Mobile 6.5 will, in fact, be known as Windows Mobile 6.5.3. Apart from minor graphical interface changes, no other feature changes have been confirmed at this time.
Garmin-Asus has, however, confirmed that it will be releasing its Nuvifone M10 handset along with the new Windows Mobile 6.5.3 variant, according to the Slashphone website. To be shown at the forthcoming MWC 2010 show, from 15th-18th February in Barcelona, Spain, the new phone will feature a 3.5in WVGA screen packing in 800 x 4870 pixels, Garmin's own GPS software, Wi-Fi, a 5-megapixel camera, a 600Mhz CPU and 4GB of, expandable, internal memory.
