Unlimited calls to Virgin mobiles will be included in Virgin landline packages
Wow, telcos just wanna do good. Just a week after T-Mobile announced its new consumer-friendly flexible tariffs, Virgin Media is going full throttle and offering unlimited landline-to-mobile calls for Virgin customers.
Users of Virgin Phone, its landline service, will be able to make free calls to Virgin mobiles for no extra charge. Customers on its highest-use Virgin Phone XL plan will be able to make these calls anytime; customers on the L plan can make free mobile calls on evenings and weekends; while customers on the M plan are restricted to weekends only.
Graeme Oxby, executive director of mobile and telephony at Virgin Media, said the success of its 'quadplay' strategy - offering its broadband, TV, mobile and landline services as one - demonstrated customers were looking for 'exceptional value by bundling more services together'.
Half a million, or 10% of, Virgin Media customers currently subscribe to all four of its services, while its landline service has over four million customers.
Virgin Phone packages go for £11.99 (M), £15.44 (L), and £19.94 (XL). More details at the Virgin Media homepage.
