New phone scam in South Dakota could appear on your mobile phone

A new phone scam has popped up in South Dakota but because schemes like this tend to travel around the globe pretty quickly, it is well to be aware of it just in case the same scammers or copy-cat scammers try the same trick in your back yard.

According to the Rapid City Journal website, the scam tries its best to get your personal details from you whilst using an automated service. The con begins by ringing up you mobile phone. A recorded message will then warn you that your credit card or credit account or company has been de-activated. You'll then be asked to press a key and supply your account number. No human being will ever take part in the call. In South Dakota, the caller ID showed up as a 6 digit number such as 208,788 or 206,766. However, that would change in different areas.
