Our new favourites for beefing up the 'Berry

BlackBerry launched its own app store the BlackBerry App World back on 1 April and the place is now brimming with apps that max out productivity as well as help you waste time in the most constructive way possible. Here are our latest favourites.

SitorSquat

Forget that prickly looking bush over there - use GPS to search for the closest toilets in your area using BlackBerry Maps and Google Maps. You can even add toilets, post comments, and, yes, review toilets and read reviews of toilets. Just like a hip foodie site... except with toilets.

Local search is where it's at, and Poynt allows you to find the nearest businesses, retailers and events in your area. View it all on a map, get driving directions and even get the heads up on movies with trailers, ticket buying and showtime features.

Capture contacts from any email you receive. Gwabbit automatically scans incoming mails, finds contacts and instantly adds them as contact cards to your 'Berry address book. Free trial for 14 days and up to 20 contacts.

vPost

Forget Twitter - with vPost, you can send pictures, video, audio notes, GPS location and text updates via email to contacts, blogs and social networks. The app integrates with your BlackBerry's calendar and email, so you'll also be able to open a vPost to nail down an event, or reply to an email with voice note or image.

VisionQuest CarFinder

Dude, where's your car? VisionQuest CarFinder remembers. The app uses Bluetooth technology to track it down, and you can also manually set your car's position on map, so that the application works alongside BlackBerry maps to direct you back to your vehicle.
