Sony Ericsson releases two more eco-friendly phones

By 2011 all Sony Ericsson accessories will be 100% green

Sony Ericsson is continuing its green initiative by adding two new phones to its eco-friendly GreenHeart range. The Sony Ericsson Elm and Sony Ericsson Hazel are both made from recycled plastics and are free from hazardous chemicals helping to reduce CO2 emissions. Other 'green' factors include an E-manual rather than a paper booklet, compact packaging and a low power consumption charger. However, don't let their green credentials blind you from the array of features that these two both pack. Social networkers will be pleased to find Twitter, Facebook and MySpace are all integrated into the phone, while they also sport a five-megapixel camera and A-GPS with Google Maps. The Sony Ericsson Elm and Sony Ericsson Hazel join the Sony Ericsson Naite in the GreenHeart portfolio, which won Most Green Award at the Mobile Choice Consumer Awards in October.

Sony Ericsson has also stated that all its accessories will be 100 per cent GreenHeart compliant by 2011. The first of which has already arrived, in the shape of Bluetooth Noise Shield Handsfree VH700.

The Sony Ericsson Elm phone will be available in the colours Metal Black and Pearly Rose from Q1 2010. The Sony Ericsson Hazel will be available in the colours Superior Black and Passionate Rouge from Q2 2010, while the Bluetooth Noise Shield Handsfree VH700 will also be available in Q2.
