New, hardy handset designed for outdoor use
Sonim has announced the release of a new ruggedised mobile phone called the LM801. The new handset is to be sold in a bright yellow and black livery to prevent it being lost in a work environment or for those fashion-conscious JCB drivers.
According to the Pocket-lint website, the phone is both water and dust proof with features that includes an electronic compass plus an altimeter for those up a ladder...or higher. If you're worried about getting your new overalls wet, you can also check the baramoter and, for those who like to build their brick walls in the depths of winter, there's a thermometer to see just how cold you're getting. Finally, to keep time with those hammer blows, you get an MP3 player and FM radio.
No UK price or distributor has yet been announced but reports say that a distributor is being sought.

Durrocomm durronothing! The Durrocomm in inherently faulty. Do NOT buy this phone. The company (of Swindon, SN8 3RH UK) are also refusing to refund me! It took a light tap and the screen became unreadable, not to mention the torch stopped working after 3 days, and the charger lacks any dexterity and is easily broken.
