Send any type of file for free over Wi-Fi
Skype version 3.0 has emerged from its beta version and has now been released onto the market for use on any handset running the Windows Mobile operating system.
The release of the latest version of the popular telecoms utility sees the company integrate two sought after features in addition to the usual selection of options. The first is the announcement that just about any type of file can now be transferred to other Skype uses for free. As long as both have a Wi-Fi connection, however.
The other welcome feature for Skype 3.0 is the inclusion of the ability to send SMS messages to other mobile phones free of charge via that same Wi-Fi connection., according to the Information Week website. Skype declared that the facility is, "...a great way to avoid roaming charges abroad if you text on Skype from a Wi-Fi zone."
You can download the new version of the utility here.
