The Beem service lets you pay for a cab or pizza via a text
Mobile users can now pay for goods and services with real mobile money. Beem is a mobile payments solution that allows you to send cash quickly and securely via text. After setting up a Beem account, users can type in their phone number in participating vendors and the cost of that purchase will then be deducted from their account. Money can be immediately transferred to and from your Beem account and that of your standard bank account 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Beem can be used via any mobile, network or bank. To sign up to Beem, users can either text ‘hello' to Beem on 07781 484668 or online at www.beemme.co.uk. Once registered users will receive a password allowing them to transfer money into their Beem account via their debit card. Merchants who have already signed up to Beem and who accept Beem payments include Tops Pizza, PizzaGOGO, London Heathrow Express Cars and AAA Taxis. Both Hertfordshire and Brunel universities have also begun accepting Beem payments in their student unions.
