Qype is a local review and social networking site. With its mobile application, simply type the name of a street or postcode, what you're looking for, before seeing user reviews and a map of how to get there direct on your mobile phone. The site covers everything from bar and restaurants to churches, plumbers and free Wi-Fi spots. Even when using your phone abroad, Qype has reviews in more than 6,000 cities across Europe.

Although you need to create an account to add your own reviews, non-members can still read reviews or browse the generated ‘guides'. Once signed up however, in addition to posting their own reviews, members can create user profiles, provide star ratings as well as build new groups of friends with similar interests and chatting with people in your local area. Pictures and YouTube videos can also be added to each review.
