New entry level Samsung Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphone to be released
Samsung is reported to be about to announce the SGH-i740 smartphone. A full screen smartphone based upon a touchscreen interface, the new handset is reported to be based on the Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system running at 624Mhz.
The screen will measure 2.8in and is rated at QVGA. A built-in camera is apparently to be included too, rated at 3MP. Other features that will be included are GPS and a FM radio.
According to both the Idnes.cz and Slashphone websites, this new phone will not be particularly expensive and will be positioned as an entry level smarthphone. As such, however, the new design does not include 3G or WiFi.
Other known features include Bluetooth 2.0 for external connection plus USB 2.0. The chassis will be sized at 107 x 59 x 13.8mm and a specially designed dial-pad navigation button will be set in the middle.
