New Samsung touch screen handset is a dual SIM design
Samsung is to release a dual SIM touch screen mobile phone called the D988. The new phone is, in fact, a revamped F480 with a dual SIM fitting to provide an option to access two suppliers simultaneously. Initially, the new design will be released in China but it's possible that the mobile may be released elsewhere too, including Europe.
According to the Unwired website, the tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE 900/1800/1900MHz handset features a QVGA screen spanning 2.6in and showing 240 x 320 pixels and is controlled via the TouchWiz interface. It includes a built-in camera that handles a very healthy 5MP plus an auto-flash. Along with the dual SIM GSM card slots, the phone features external connections including a Bluetooth 2.0 and USB ports. You also receive a microSD port for memory card expansion purposes.
There have been no announcements, thus far, regarding a UK release or a UK price.
