Samsung launches the 'world's toughest' mobile phone

Samsung has teamed up with O2 to launch the Solid phone.

The Samsung Solid is Samsung's first ultra durable handset, featuring built-in anti-shock, as well as water and dust resistance.

According to Samsung, the phone is designed for builders, tradesmen and extreme sports enthusiasts and comes encased in a thick rubber body that will be able to withstand tough knocks.

The phone comes with a built-in FM radio, Bluetooth connectivity, camera and a long battery life. The handset also features a built-in flash light which doubles up as an emergency torch. Great for potholers and cavers who take a wrong turn.

And should you get stuck on your extreme sporting adventures, the phone also comes with SOS dialing, that lets you send an alert messages to a nominated contact by pressing the volume button three times in quick succession.

The Samsung Solid is available from O2 and is free on all 12 monthly contracts and is £59.99 on prepay.
