Handset due for European release in September
Reports have arrived which state that the Samsung Omnia II i8000 will be released in September sporting the latest version of Windows Mobile - version 6.5.
Observers monitoring the forthcoming release of the fully featured Samung Omnia II i8000 have, until now, stated that the new phone will arrive supported by the Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system with an option to upgrade later. However, it now appears that the mobile will appear with the latest version of Windows Mobile, version 6.5, from the off, via the Austrian mobile operator, A1 - also known as Mobilkom, according to the WMpoweruser website
The assumption, therefore, is that every European territory will feature an Omnia II sporting Mobile 6.5. However, it is possible that some territories may initially offer the Omnia II along with Windows Mobile 6.1 only. It is also possible that a 6.1-based Omnia II may appear within other European markets earlier than September.
