New Samsung handset with a mobile version of Apple's Safari?
Samsung's new slider mobile phone is rumoured to feature Apple's Safari web browser. However, there does appear to be some measure of scepticism as to the truth of this rumour.
The handset is compact at just 13.5mm thick and runs on Symbian v9.3 and S60, 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2. Other features include a 2.4in QVGA screen, a 3MP camera and an FM radio. Accessories can be plugged into the miscroSD slot and Bluetooth. The tri-band GSM phone supports UMTS/HSDPA.
"We are happy to compliment our product portfolio with yet another appealing S60 mobile, Samsung L870 that is fully customized with style, performance and user interface," said Jongin Kim, the Vice President of Mobile Communication Division of Samsung Electronics. "With S60, we can successfully deliver the latest mobile technology with fully customizable applications and the intuitive user interfaces."
Expect a UK release around August time. However, there has been no news on a price.
