Recycle at Nokia Regent Street

08 July 2008

Nokia's survey shows only one in ten people recycle their mobile phone

Nokia is inviting people to recycle their old phones at their London store, whatever the make and model. It follows a survey conducted by the manufacturer that claims two thirds of people don't even consider recycling their handsets with nearly one fifth of people unaware it was even possible.

Nokia's London flagship store in Regent Street is now open to people who want to recycle their phones, be them Nokia, Samsung or Sony Ericsson. The store is open seven days a week, Monday to Friday from 10am to 8pm, Saturday from 10am to 7pm and Sunday from midday to 6pm. Nokia claims that up to 80% of their Nokia devices are recyclable with various materials being reused to make other products which in turn helps reduce harmful greenhouse gases.

There are currently 5,000 Nokia collection points where old handsets can be dropped off to be recycled. To find your nearest one, visit www.nokia.com/werecycle.
