President of RIM speaks of new prototype
BlackBerry users will soon be able to enjoy faster broadband internet access according to Mike Lazaridis, president and co-chief executive of Research in Motion. Speaking to the Financial Times, when asked what his latest squeeze is, the BlackBerry chief responded by saying: 'One of our prototypes - a 3.5G BlackBerry. It's very fast over third-generation networks that have HSDPA (High-Speed Downlink Packet Access).'
Until now, BlackBerry consumers have had to rely on 3G or Wi-Fi networks to access their emails or download content. With more HSDPA-enabled devices, RIM looks set to join the HSDPA bandwagon.
