Messaging service is now available for free from Apple's App Store
A service that integrates all your instant messaging services into one single platform is now available on the iPhone. Palringo allows people to stay connected to messaging services such as AOL's AIM, Google Talk, Yahoo! Messenger and Windows Live Messenger. In addition, users of the service will also be able to make the most of Apple's own IM service, iChat. Once downloaded, Palringo can be launched with a simple tap of the screen with the ability to send picture or text-based messages to individuals or groups.
The service should appeal to users of both the iPhone 3G and the original, as neither device has the ability to send MMS messages. Furthermore, Palringo also anticipates that vocal instant messaging will be possible in the coming months. Data wise, Palringo needs one megabyte to send and receive the equivalent of about 4,500 SMS messages, 32 picture messages and up to 15 minutes of vocal instant messages.
The service is available worldwide and already works on a variety of handsets. To download and install the iPhone version, visit Apple's new App Store.
