Palm Centro gets the Emmy bling treatment

Designer label, Ed Hardy, has created a custom Centro

Palm has teamed up with the designer label, Ed Hardy, to create a custom made Palm Centro mobile phone. A practice that continues the company's flirtation with custom built handsets - it has previously worked with Coach and Dooney & Bourke to design cases for its smartphones. However, this is the first time that the company has actually worked with a designer label to spruce up its range of phones.

The Ed Hardy Centro handsets were reportedly placed in the presenters gift lounge at the recent Primetime Emmy Awards, according to the Wired website. The phones were available and grabbed by the hosts, presenters and performers including Heidi Klum and Eva Longoria-Parker, during the event, which took place on September 20 and 21.

The handset was bedecked with sparklers but no official price was declared. Despite the giveaways, the phones have yet to go on sale.
