Two new smartphones to run on Windows Mobile Professional
Opticon has released news about two new smartphones that it is about to bring to market. The Opticon H16 and the Opticon H19 are both looking for a September release. Both mobile phones will run on Windows Mobile operating system. However, unusually, the H16 will only run on Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC. It is unknown why the handset only utilises version 5 of the software.
According to the Unwired website, the H19 is a quad-band design using GMS, GPRS and EDGE for data transfer along with WiFi with, for external connections, Bluetooth 2.0 and a barcode reader. In addition, the chassis some complete with a QWERTY keyboard.
The purchase price for either is steep to say the least with a UK equivalent price of £600 each. No UK distribution plans have been announced.
