New handset trio includes an XpressMusic phone, a fashion slider and youth-orientated model
Nokia has introduced three new phones to its portfolio, the most eye-catching of which is the 5700 XpressMusic phone. This 3G Symbian Series 60 smartphone features the manufacturer's twist design first used on the 3250, switching between the phone, music player, two-megapixel camera and video calling when swivelled. As a new member of Nokia's XpressMusic regime, the 5700 has all the mobile music issues covered. It supports the full gamut of file formats - WMA, MP3, AAC, eAAC+ and MP4 - including DRM coded tunes so you can play tracks bought from online music stores. A microSD card slot stores your tunes with a 2GB card able to hold around 500 songs*, while a 3.5mm connector means you can hook up your own headphones. It also supports the A2DP Stereo Bluetooth profile for wireless streaming of music to compatible headphones or speakers. The XpressMusic player also includes album artwork, playlists and a five-band equalizer.
Next up is the entry level 5070 candybar that will appeal to the youth market. The phone features a built-in FM radio complete with stereo headphones, a built-in VGA camera, web browser and MP3 ringtone support.
Lastly, the cute 7088 slider is part of Nokia's L'Amour fashion collection but sadly won't be launched in the UK. It's decked in a leathery finish and a metallic frame and features a built-in camera, web browser and 128x160 pixel resolution display.
