E71 is marketed as a corporate "E"nterprise phone (JDS)

Nokia really issed the mark with this Nokia E71. E71 is beautiful but without the blackberry connect feature oher E series phones sport; it’s hardly useful as a corporate device; especially in large corporations or organisations where blackberry is the mandatory choice.

Nokia e71 does have push always on email like the Blackberry. I have had the blackberry 7290, pearl 8100 & I'm currently using a work blackberry curve 8230 & a Nokia e71. The e71 is better than my current & previous blackberrys because you with the free in-buit software can download pdfs from websites. It has an inbuilt minioffice , which u can make docs & email them & acrobat reader . You can read attachments. I set up push email with the free bulit in nokia email with the outlook settings of my home email & it works like the blackberry & u can see emails in html format if u want. Ive set up 6 email accounts. I have the option on surfing on my home wifi rather than my home network & I can use skype. It has much better gps, more like a moving tom tom. & camera/video is better. I can back up contacts/calendar/notes to outlook. It it has a built in zip unlock programme can play flash videos . slimmer than the blackberry & longer lasting steel finish. & its 3g so faster. Only difference is blackberry has fatter keys so a little bit easier to use. You can also use the phone as a modem or a dictation machine .You can print via infrared/bluetooth & I think network .And basically its at least £10 per month cheaper on a monthly contract or at least £100 cheaper than a blackberry bold, which almost matches it for speed & features. There are also easier shortcut keys i.e 1 click to push email/ caklendar/contacts/apps. & musepad is better than trackball on BB which gets clogged with dust. I'd recommend it as a value for money cheaper alternative to the blackberry.

E71 vs Blackberry (Paulo)

I was to buy a Blackberry Bold because I would use it in my job. When I've gone to the shop to buy it, I became stunned by its price. It was outrageous, here, in Brazil. Then the seller offered me an E71 at half of blackberry price.

I've known Blackberries and Nokia Phones. Blackberries are VERY GOOD smartphones. Nokia phones, all of they, are just phones. Strong, robust phones, but just phones. But E71 is different. It is a really, really, really good smartphone, with all features I need in a smartphone for my job (and I do home office almost all time - rarely I go to the office). I don't know if Nokia will pick the point with another smart phone in the future. But, by now, I've changed my opinion about Nokia Smartphones.

And E71 made me forget an expensive Blackberry.
