Nokia's new 3G clamshell, the 6555, boasts a 'smooth back' design and a quirky retro clock.
There's a lot to be said for a 3G mobile that costs around £135 without a contract, but we're not sure the analogue clock, which beams out from the phone's fascia, is one of the Nokia 6555's killer aesthetic features.
In our opinion, new technology should feature digital clocks and nothing else - what's next a slider with a pendulum?
Aside from this minor facial blemish, this slinky new 3G clamshell redeems itself by packing in 3G, Bluetooth, a 16-million colour QVGA display and a microSD card slot for expanding the memory, and all at a competitive mid-level price.
Nokia doesn't reveal the camera's spec, aside from the fact that it offers 6x digital zoom, so we're not expecting a competitor to the Nokia N95 or Sony Ericsson Cybershot range, but this is a 3G phone with a neat design (aside from the analog clock) which represents something of a bargain as we approach the Christmas season.
