25 July 2008

New Sky handset allows you to personalise the phone cover

A new mobile phone, released by Sky (not the UK broadcaster), called the Neon Sign, has been released in Korea. It's principle selling point is its front cover mounted LED suite of lights that allows you to select one of 46 given icons. You can also animate the LEDs, there are 49 set into the front cover of the chassis.

The Neon Sign supports T-DMB and WCDMA global roaming, as well as video telephony. According to the AVing.net website, the handset also includes a built-in camera but the specifications are said to not exceed 2MP. Entertainment is provided via a MP3 player. You also receive an electronic dictionary, text viewer and multitasking functionality.

The mobile measures 91.8x 48 x 16.9mm and weighs in at 108g. Upon release, the Sky will be available in four different colours: white, sky blue, pink and black. The equivalent UK price is around £200. There have been no announcements regarding a UK release, however.
