NEC to become LG Arena

04 July 2008

Eight year sponsorship signals LG's move from being product-driven to marketing-driven organisation

The NEC Arena in Birmingham is to officially be renamed the LG Arena this autumn. With a £28 million funding package the LG Arena will provide a host of entertainment areas, hospitality, bars, restaurants as well as improved backstage areas. Refurbishment is set to commence in September to improve on what is already recognised as one of the top concert and event venues in the UK. As part of the sponsorship deal, LG will supply their products through out the LG Arena site.

LG joins O2 in being the brand names behind two of the UK's biggest and most popular venues, with The O2 officially unveiled in June 2007.
