Microsoft Live Search on BlackBerry

15 September 2008

Live Search to be integrated into the BlackBerry Browser and BlackBerry Maps

RIM and Microsoft's relationship appears to be going from strength to strength with news that BlackBerry users will soon be able to use Live Search on their device. BlackBerry users will be able to use Live Search as their preferred search engine, as opposed to Google for example, to find the latest football results, weather reports or traffic reports.

In addition, Microsoft Live Search will also be integrated into BlackBerry Maps, meaning users will be able to conduct local location based searches such as restaurants, car parks or points of interest. The integration of Live Search follows Microsoft and RIM's successful collaboration in providing easy access to Windows Live Messenger and Windows Live Hotmail on the BlackBerry platform.

Microsoft Live Search on BlackBerry is expected to be available later this year and will support multiple languages.
