Levis unveils new fashion phone

26 June 2007

Jeans giant follows Prada's lead and launches its own-brand mobile.

The Levis phome is a candy bar handset, with a slim profile and a wider-than-average fascia. The new fashion phone, which will be available across Europe from September 2007, comes in metallic silver, black and brown copper and boasts a large 1.8 inch display, MP3 player, 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth and an SD memory card slot.

The handset is expected to sell for 500 euros without operator subsidy and will be available from Levis stores, select fashion outlets, as well as regular high street mobile outlets and operator stores.

The Levis phone has been developed by a Customised Design Manufacturer called ModeLabs. Levis is not the first fashion brabd to launch a mobile phone. Earlier this year, Italian label Prada teamed up with LG to launch the touch-screen Prada phone.
