How to sync your mobile calendar

A new software tool called TeamCalender aims to take the hassle out of organising team meetings from your mobile.

Developed by HandStep, TeamCalendar is a new software product that allows people to search for free time slots in their own and their colleague's schedule, direct from their smartphones or PDAs. The SmartPlanning function identifies a time slot that is most available for all concerned and thus saves the tooing and frowing usually involved in organising meetings.

Based on Microsoft's Outlook platform, TeamCalender automatically synchronises with Microsoft Exchange servers to ensure that all calendar information on each device is constantly up-to-date. Devices need to operate on Microsoft Windows Mobile software together with Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 SP2 or a more recent version.

Installed on all company Pocket PCs and SmartPhones from one central location, for security reasons TeamCalendar can be installed either inside the company firewall or if hosted externally, users can be reassured that no information is stored on the hosting server.
