Handset to run on Windows OS
HTC is reported to be about to officially announce a new mobile phone that will be based upon the HD design but will be rather smaller in stature. A fashion which began with Nokia and its N97 Mini and whose most recent entry is via LG with its pint-sized mobile.
HTC is looking towards its successful HD design as the basis for a new creation it is branding as the HTC HD Mini, not unreasonably.
To be officially announced at the MWC 2010 show, the new design will be based upon the Windows Mobile 6.5.3 operating system. Previously known as the Photon, the new HD Mini will include a Qualcomm 600MHz CPUMSM7227 CPU, a 5-megapixel camera, 3.2in capacative touchscreen, Wi-Fi, A-GPS and a 3.5mm headphone socket.
The phone has yet to see an official price but expect an April release.
