Handset utilises the same styling and functionality as the Touch Diamond with an additional QWERTY keyboard
A business version of HTC's Touch Diamond has been unveiled in Taiwan. The HTC Touch Pro offers the same TouchFLO 3D interface as the more consumer friendly Touch Diamond only with an additional five-row sliding QWERTY keyboard. As with the Touch Diamond, the HTC Touch Pro boasts ultra fast HSDPA speeds of up to 7.2Mbps along with HSUPA wireless connectivity. When viewing the web, built-in accelerometers automatically rotate the screen if the device is turned on its side, and the Touch Pro is also fitted with a YouTube application and Google Maps.
However, it's the slide-out QWERTY keyboard that is the real standout feature of the HTC Touch Pro. While HTC claims users can operate the Touch Pro with one hand through the 3D touch interface, business users will be able to type out emails or work on Microsoft Office documents at relative ease thanks to the keyboard. The built-in TV-out function also means you will be able to perform PowerPoint displays from the Touch Pro as well as watch video content on a bigger screen.
The HTC Touch Pro is expected to be available in late summer, with an expected retail price of around £550 (SIM-free).
