HTC introduces the S740

26 August 2008

With full slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a regular 12-button keypad

More renowned for their touch-screen devices, HTC claims its latest smartphone provides the ultimate messaging experience. Users can compose emails, instant message or send SMS messages with either the standard front adorning keypad or a full slide-out QWERTY keypad. Despite the onboard QWERTY keypad, the HTC S740 manages to remain slim and compact, while the handset also supports push email meaning you will receive your emails instantaneously.

The design of the S740 is similar to that of the HTC Touch Diamond, the manufacturer's recent consumer handset, with a matt black facetted back and a 2.4-inch QVGA display. Operating on Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard, the S740 also sports built-in A-GPS with Google Maps, 3.2-megapixel camera with fixed focus and an onboard RSS reader.
