HTC Touch Diamond mobile phone - without the Diamond

17 July 2008

HTC slated to release a special version of the Touch Diamond - the P3702

HTC appear to be on the brink of releasing a special version of their Touch Diamond, the P3702. The new design gives an alternative to the unusual and some might say, slightly irritating, diamond shaped back panel. The new chassis features a simple, rounded design which should prove to be rather more practical.

There is a rumour, however, that the featured RAM memory of the new variation has fallen down from 192Mb to just 128Mb. Speculation has been rife as to what feature or features might have suffered due to this change and the video accelerator is a prime suspect as it requires exactly 64Mb to run.

According to the GSM website, this new iteration has been released in Taiwan, to begin with but reports say that the new design will be released into other markets later. There have been no announcements regarding the UK as yet or what the price may be.
