The next Android phone from HTC may be out within three months
Orange will launch its first Android phone in the UK by year end, and possibly in the next three months.
The operator will be the next to do the Vodafone and T-Mobile thing, with an HTC-manufactured device running on Google's open-source mobile operating system Android (what's so great about that thing anyway?).
According to ZDNet, the handset will be the HTC Hero. Orange already has an Android phone out in France - the HTC Dream, which in the UK was exclusive to T-Mobile and branded the G1.
Then we had the HTC Magic (right), exclusive to Vodafone. Still waiting on some Android love from any other manufacturer though... especially with French HTC CEO Frédéric Tassy saying Windows Mobile is way more of a priority anyway.

Good news for Orange :)As an Orange customer, I'm pretty excited about the HTC Hero news. I can only hope that the battery life and the camera will be far superior to the Magic; from what I've read so far about Magic and Dream, the battery life is very poor.
