Google expects Chrome to integrate with Android

10 September 2008

PC development to be transferred to mobile use

The latest Google browser development for PCs will be converted to use on mobile phones via Google's own forthcoming Android mobile phone operating system.

The new development offers one box for everything so you type in the address bar and get suggestions for both search and webpages. Chrome also provides thumbnails of your top sites so you can access your favourite pages instantly. The new browser also provides shortcuts for your applications, which enables you to launch your favourite web applications.

According to the Cnet website, Chrome and Android were largely developed separately. Sergey Brin, Google co-founder, said: 'We have not wanted to bind one's hands to the other's. But you can expect that to change now that both projects are public and nearing their first final releases. Probably a subsequent version of Android is going to pick up a lot of the Chrome stack.'
