Android T-Mobile G1 mobile phone receives fBook, Facebook App
Users of the Android G1 mobile phone will now be able to utilise Facebook after the launch of the compatible application, fBook.
The phone already supports MySpace and it was seen as just a matter of time before the principle rival of the website would be launched on the new handset. The utility that enables connection to the social networking site is a third party product that has been created by an outfit called Next Mobile Web. The program, called fBook, is known as a 'wrapper', which sits on the phone and optimises the Facebook iPhone application.
The reports from the Android Community website say that the new application is identical to going to m.facebook.com on your mobile phone but this new wrapper brings new features to the party such as photo uploading. Observers were not sure if the phone would ever see a real Facebook application, fBook might be as good as it gets.
