New smartphone details leaked
Details have been leaked regarding a new smartphone from Research in Motion. The new handset will be the latest in the Pearl line of designs and will hope to succeed the Pearl 8100 / 8110 and 8120 mobile phones. The new phone is to be known as the Blackberry Pearl 9100 and, according to observers, is either codenamed as the Blackberry Striker or the Blackberry Stratus.
Featuring a Suretype keypad that appears to be larger than the current 81xx-series of handsets, the new design will arrive with an optical trackpad instead of the older style trackball, according to the Crackberry website.
Other features for the new 9100 design will include 3G for fast data transfer plus a built in camera of unknown specification. However, observers say that it will include a LED flash.
There are no details on the price or the release date as yet.
