Apple iPhone mobile phone to expand to 32Gb?

23 September 2008

Rumours of new iPhone developments now circulating

Rumours of the next development of the Apple iPhone mobile phone include a proposed expansion of the on-board RAM to a large 32Gb.

No sooner is the latest iPhone 3G model released to the High Street then new rumours have already began to circulate about further developments to the specification. According to the Apple Insider website, possible reasons for the intention to increase the RAM memory to the 32Mb level is that stocks of 8Gb chips may be low. If that is the case, it would make economic and competitive sense to then purchase a new batch of RAM chips at a higher specification.

Apple recently released details reagrding its update plans for the entire iPod line which included news of upping the RAM memory of the iPod Nano from 4Gb to 8Gb and from 8Gb to 16Gb. A similar memory hike for the iPhone, in these terms, makes perfect sense.
