iPhone handset reaches No.2 in corporate sales figures
Apple's popular iPhone is just as popular in business circles as it is with the general public. According to the Intomobile website, the iPhone has now added an additional 5 percentage points to its corporate market share meaning that it has now overtaken Palm in terms of corporate sales making it the second best selling smartphone, with a 14% share, according to ChangeWave Research.
Palm saw market share drop 4 points, leaving it with an 11% market share in the enterprise market. Even corporate-leader RIM lost a point to Apple's iPhone 3G, leaving RIM with a 76% market share.
The iPhone itself is also having a positive effect on the general image of Apple as a corporate source for the corporate industries, "In a further confirmation that the 3G iPhone is having a positive impact on Apple's corporate business, nearly one-in-five respondents (18%) report the release of the 3G version has made their company ‘More Likely' to purchase Apple products in the future," ChangWave says in its report.
