New shrunken iPhone iteration reportedly slated for Christmas release
Apple is reported to be working on a new miniature iPhone design resembling the current iPod Nano. The same reports say that the rumoured design is due for release before Christmas.
According to the Daily Mail website, the new design known, at the moment, as the Nano Phone, would have a touch wheel on the back and a display on the front so that numbers could be dialed from behind.
The Daily Mail quoted an unattributable source who said, "This will be a big one. The iPhone 3G has been the fastest-selling phone ever in the UK, but it is too expensive to be a realistic proposition in the pay-as-you-go market. However, a cut down version, with the candy bar shape of iPod nano music players, would be a huge hit as a Christmas gift."
Further rumors say that such a new design would be sold for around £150 in the UK for pay as you go, from O2.
