APP WATCH: Facebook app for Android spotted

10 August 2009

Social networking facility to hit Android operating system soon

Screenshots for the Android version of Facebook have been leaked onto the Internet.

The social networking facility, Facebook, has been steadily spreading throughout the mobile fraternity largely due to demand from the public. To that effect, a suitable application has appeared for the likes of the iPhone, for Blackberry mobile phones, for Windows Mobile and for the Symbian operating system. It has even appeared via Palm. The only missing link in that roster is Facebook for Android. Now, finally, that gap is being addressed as these screenshots published by the Leakdroid website, prove. According to one of these screenshots, the Facebook Android app will allow users to update their status directly from the Android homescreen.

It is currently unknown when the utility will be released on the general market or, more specifically, Android Market. However, when it does eventually appear, we will keep you informed.
